Hello all,

A random draw for a chance to purchase Embark Handwoven Art Yardage is now under way and will close Friday February 7th. For all of the information, and to enter - https://forms.gle/sh66qjSELk3qCRoQ6

You can see a full album of photos here - https://jeannieortiz.com/embark/

This piece was woven with both a warp and weft of organic cotton-linen. It measures 5.5 m in length and has long hand-twined fringe on each end. This piece is the link between the previous warp, and the new. One side of the fringes has the tie-remnants of the old warp tied to the new. I love leaving these markers of time attached to the piece. Tangible references to time passing.

Meanwhile, on my loom I am embarking on the creation of a collection of Etherial Scarves that I hope to have finished by the end of February. Each piece will embody a fragment of the rainbow. Visions of the prism. Where possible I will be using naturally dyed raw silk, this is where the natural yellow of the earth really SHINE!

11 bobbins of naturally dyed raw silk in shades of soft blue, grey, brown and all shades of yellow lay on the cream colored threads of a loom

That's all for now.
Wishing you all the best,
Jeannie
