Butterfly Wings

Butterfly Wings

A random draw for a chance to purchase these sculptural cowls is now live.   They are woven on a warp of organic merino that was dyed with black walnuts.   The wefts that I used are all variety of merino, cashmere, alpaca, wool, seacell/merino/silk and cashmere/silk.  For all the info, and to enter -

Woven on a warp of Black Walnut dyed organic merino wool with a weft of naturally dyed silk/merino/seacell and chunky merino. The dyes used for both the weft and fringe were cochineal, sandalwood, buckthorn, black walnut and marigolds. Into the weft was woven a sumptuous gathering of silk/merino/seacell fringe and inlaid designs. The designs are reflections of the butterflies that rode the wind by my loom as I wove in Cochise Stronghold.
